What We Believe

At Bethel Church of God, our beliefs are rooted in the Bible and centred on Jesus Christ. Here’s what we stand for:

• The Bible
  We believe the Bible is God’s inspired Word—true, trustworthy, and our guide for life.

• One God in Three Persons
  We believe in one eternal God who exists as the Father, the Son (Jesus Christ), and the Holy Spirit.

• Jesus Christ
  We believe Jesus is the Son of God, born of the Virgin Mary, through the Holy Spirit. He lived a sinless life, died on the cross for our sins, was buried, rose again, and now sits at the right hand of God, interceding for us.

• Sin and Salvation
  We believe all people have sinned and need forgiveness. God calls everyone to repent and turn to Him. Through faith in Jesus and His sacrifice, we are forgiven, made new, and brought into right relationship with God.

• New Life in Christ
  We believe that when we trust in Jesus, we are justified (made right with God), born again, and begin a new life through the Holy Spirit.

• Sanctification
  We believe in growing in holiness after salvation—becoming more like Christ through the Word of God, faith, and the work of the Holy Spirit.

• Holy Living
  We believe God calls His people to live holy lives, marked by love, obedience, and integrity.

• The Holy Spirit
  We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit, which empowers believers for service and is often accompanied by speaking in tongues as the Spirit enables.

• Water Baptism
  We believe in baptism by full immersion in water, as a public declaration of faith, in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

• Healing
  We believe that healing is available through Jesus’ sacrifice and is part of God’s plan for His people.

• Communion and Foot Washing
  We observe the Lord’s Supper and the washing of feet as acts of humility, love, and remembrance of Jesus.

• Jesus’ Return
  We believe Jesus will return before the millennium (a thousand-year reign). He will first raise the righteous who have died and take believers to be with Him. Then He will return to reign on earth.

• Eternal Life
  We believe in the bodily resurrection of all people—eternal life for those who follow Christ, and eternal separation from God for those who reject Him.
